The tradition and history of hunting music

Skåne’s Jakthorn wants to continue to pass on the tradition of playing the hunting horn in Skåne. Hunting music in Sweden does not have the same tradition at hunts and in similar contexts as it has in our neighbouring countries Denmark, Germany and Poland. We are also working to encourage more people to start playing the hunting horn to carry on the tradition. Recently, we have had new students join our beginner’s programme.
