Orchestral music at a professional level is a great source of joy, development and recreation. Unfortunately, it requires extensive resources that only major cities can provide. The region’s orchestras have limited capacity to tour in the provinces. There is, therefore, a lack of role models for young musicians and applications to the School of Culture’s orchestral instrument courses is declining. This pilot project aims to explore opportunities for smaller towns to develop orchestral art locally but with a regional platform, in collaboration with the municipal music schools.
