Easier development of new road materials for cleaner air

The aim of the project is to develop a test equipment to experimentally study the impact of existing and future road surfaces on the generation and characteristics of airborne wear particles. The equipment will be mobile for future studies in MAX IV and ESS. The project will answer the research question: “How can cost-effective experiments in a laboratory environment at the material level be developed and validated to generate representative airborne wear particles from car tyres and roads?”
