The aim is to develop a prototype of a solar thermal battery that can generate electricity and heat. The technical processes were validated in the summer of 2023 through experiments in the solar lab of LTH, Faculty of Engineering. The project focuses on working through all the steps and building a complete prototype to test the system’s limits for maximum storage temperature, efficiency, power output, storage losses and storage capacity. This will then form the basis for constructing a full-scale prototype in collaboration with the customer.
