The aim of the production is to explore the rich world of sound created in the meeting between the hardanger fiddle and viola d’amore using alternate tunings, song traditions and playing techniques. With this disc, we want to introduce this fantastic instrument combination to a larger audience, and for the album to serve as a source of inspiration and knowledge for musicians and listeners. The project also aims to explore the concepts of ‘tradition’ and ‘frontier’ and what they mean for music today.
