The main objective of this project is to explore the potential of using the outer ear; including the concave side of the pinna, the external and internal auditory canal, and the tympanic membrane, as a platform to gain further understanding of how alternative pathways through the skin contribute to transdermal drug uptake and how passage through these pathways can be facilitated. Furthermore, we intend to evaluate the potential for systemic drug delivery via topical application in the outer ear.
